The Thread: Conversations Beyond The Return Vol. 5

to
With COVID affecting our lives on the continent and throughout the diaspora and the fight against white supremacy and police brutality heating up in our communities - we are firmly beyond the year of return and it's time to plot our next steps.

In Vol. 5 we go inside, kicking off conversations of healing within our community and then turning to solutions that question the system in the west that we've adopted as truth.

This is fuel for all of us.

About The Thread

Presented by Tastemakers Africa, The Thread | Conversations Beyond The Return is a monthly-ish series of conversations unpacking the potential for Pan-Africanism in a post-"Year of Return" moment for the culture. Since its inception as an in-person event in Washington, DC The Thread has gone virtual reaching nearly 6,000 people from 50+ countries.

Proceeds from The Thread support Tastemakers Africa's effort to rebuild and sustain tourism on the African continent where 1 in 7 people make a living from working in travel and hospitality. From supporting the Moree Community in the Cape Coast region of Ghana to making individual grants to guides, artists, and creative tourism entrepreneurs our goal is to make sure the industry bounces back stronger than ever.
