The State of Young Black New York 2020 Virtual Conference

to
The New Way Forward

On the last day of our three day conference, we've pulled out the stops to gather a panel of impactful, homegrown advocates and organizers to help us set the path for a NEW Young Black New York, and as a newly minted advocate, we're calling you to action as well!

In the first hour, our panel will examine and discuss the recent state of events in New York, from strained relations with NYPD, to matters of our health, careers and housing, to how we can best impact the November election and get counted in the Census. The panel will provide the framework for attendees to take this mission to their communities and begin leading the change!

During the second hour, we are calling YOU to action! Whether you need to complete your 2020 Census, have a petition you'd like to share and get signatures for, need to update your voter registration or apply for an absentee vote, or wish to follow your local city official on social media, we encourage our attendees to take at least one action of advocacy during this hour, and share the actions you took with conference attendees. It could be as simple as following your local elected officials on Twitter, or as grand as organizing a virtual demonstration on an issue of concern, but our intention is that you leave this session motivated and informed to advocate!
