The Sappho Show

The Sappho Show is back, online and live from our living room to yours!
That’s right, isolation ain’t gonna to keep us apart.  We’ve done the digital pivot and are excited to announce you can join us monthly for an intimate Friday night in with the same good vibes and some of Australia’s best queer female performers.
Expect smooth tunes, real time chats with Kim and Lisa, the artists and audience and a bit of queer music trivia. It’s the perfect way to feel connected to community from your safe place.  Plus, we're offering a range of ticket prices so you can pay what you can afford depending on your circumstances right now, while supporting independent female artists . So grab a glass of bubbles, a cider or a cup of green tea and settle in to cap off the week.
Did we mention Australia’s best queer female performers?!  This month we’re thrilled to announce:
Sydney based singer and songwriter Dani El-Rassi.  Having released her Debut EP in 2019, completing her first National Band Tour and a sold out EP launch @ Oxford Art Factory, releasing a formal music video, selling out multiple Sydney venues, and releasing a new single, Dani can’t wait to share her music with you!

For more on Dani, head to or

Australia’s Top Female Speed Painter Sarah Rowan. Sarah’s been entertaining audiences around the world with her unique talent for over 15 years.  With over 170K raised for charities through her art Sarah is paving the way for others to tap into their own creativity and use what is in their hands to impact the world. Sarah’s looking forward to painting something unique and beautiful, just for the Sappho audience.
Sarah will be auctioning the artwork she paints after the show, more details to come.  And for more about Sarah head to or @artistsarahrowan
'Irresistibly sultry' Rayn. Having spent the last 18 months creating her debut E.P, RAYN has released two singles off her debut EP 'Serotonin'. Blending soul, pop & R&B, lush harmonies and euphoric guitars, RAYN's music has a unique charm about it. The kind of charm that may leave you hypnotised in the raw honesty of it all.
"With the release of her new single OMM, she immediately establishes her penchant for crafting immersive and sultry R&B gems. If you’re not already familiar with this artist, we strongly recommend you quickly change that.' - Happy Mag TV

So why The Sappho Show? Well, Sappho is a little like us.  A poet at heart, a lover of women and much of her work is lost or unknown. Sure, she was around in 500 BCE on the Isle of Lesbos, but we don’t think that much has changed.  We still need a safe island (or, in this case a virtual event space!) to meet up and the fact is queer female performers are still massively underrepresented.
FEM and The She Collective are committed to supporting queer women’s voices creatively and financially.
More than a show, it’s a community.
