Startup Europe Networks is launching a series of online meetups. We dedicate the first event to get ready for Podim and we are hosting Portfolion's Pitch Nigth as well. Together with Podim DX and PortfoLion VC we believe it is important during these turbulent times to find alternative platforms for ambitious founders and the startup community to connect, learn and find investor partners.

Warming up for Podim

Our founding member’s, Startup Slovenia’s annual tech conference, Podim has shifted online instead of pulling the plug for 2020 and is just around the corner. We dedicate the first event to give you a sneak peek into the online event experience with some of the conference speakers and key players of the regional and international tech scene. Podim Digital Experience will take place May 18-20. Find out more on 𝘱𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘮.𝘰𝘳𝘨/𝘥𝘹.

Keynote & Panel

Save the date on May 8 and join us at our kick-off event! We will have a keynote talk & panel discussion on how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted the startup scene and what it means for founders and investors regionally and globally.

We are stoked to have Zach Coelius (Angel Investor, Serial Entrepreneur) to give a talk and provide hands-on advice on how to prepare for the economic downturn and uncertain times.

We all want everything back to ‘normal’, but will it be the same ‘normal’? Will there be a ‘brave new world’ with new generational needs? Tough times are coming and startups need to get ready for war-time. What does it take to be a wartime CEO? Brace for that post-COVID era: take inventory of what has happened so far, think of future scenarios, and “learn to see through the fog of chaos”.

After the talk and Q&A, Marvin Liao (Early Stage Investor, Tech Executive) and other key regional investors and entrepreneurs, including Andras Molnar (PortfoLion VC), Gyula Feher (Oktogon Ventures, previously Ustream), Istvan Csanady (Shapr3d) are joining to follow up with a panel discussion. In the panel, we will dig deeper into the topic of fundraising and try to explore the effect of this global crisis from a CEE-focused standpoint.

PortfoLion VC’s COVID-Proof Pitch Night

As one of the largest venture capital and private equity management firms in the CEE region, PortfoLion VC continuously seeks startup companies with innovative, scalable solutions and agile teams in order to partner up with them and to invest in Seed & Series A rounds.

PortfoLion’s Virtual Pitch Night provides an opportunity for startups to pitch their business ideas and get hands-on feedback from successful entrepreneurs and senior investors. 5 Selected startups will be given 5 minutes each to present their solution, business model and growth plans, followed by feedback from a professional advisory panel. The panel will consist of Marvin Liao (Early Stage VC), Aurel Pasztor (PortfoLion), Krisztián Flautner (Banzai Cloud) and Jimmy Fong (SEON). Click HERE to sign up for the pitch opportunity. Application deadline: 12:00 CEST 6th of May.

Successful teams will get on a fast track in PortfoLion’s investment process which can result in investments up to EUR 2M. Not selected? Don’t worry! We realize we will not be able to provide an opportunity for all the amazing startups applying. Therefore, we will reach out to further selected applicants after the event.

If you are a startup and you are looking for an investment partner who is not only offering capital to finance organizational and business development but also helps founders through its extensive network and business expertise, then this is the perfect event for you to participate at.

You can apply by filling in the following form. Registration is open until 12:00 noon CEST 6th of May, however we are selecting applicants on a rolling basis so the sooner you apply, the better your chance is to secure your spot.

The ideal candidate has already found product-market fit and is seeking funds for business model validation, product improvement and business development. Preferred industries include – but not limited to – E-commerce, Big Data, IT Infrastructure, Financial Software, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
